The Team

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's online SfAA meeting! At the ExtrACTION & Environment TIG Business Meeting, we talked about ramping up our outreach and networking efforts, especially in hopes of getting students and other early career environmental anthropologists on board. The idea of holding some virtual roundtables/discussions/meet-ups in between SfAA meetings was also proposed. If you would like to help with social media, website design, or anything else, please email Anna Willow at willow.1@osu.edu. 

We also have a new Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2947679948802226) we can use to share our ideas and accomplishments! 

This year’s virtual meetings were interesting, a bit challenging, and successful.  The secret with all virtual but live sessions seems to be to not over schedule.  This allows the audience to interact with presenters throughout.  The post session meet ups were not as effective in facilitating interaction.  The volunteer moderators were wonderful and helpful.  They deserve a huge cheer.

Next year's SfAA meeting will be held in Salt Lake City. It's never too early to start thinking of ideas for sessions, workshops, papers, and posters.  The meeting will be hybrid and we hope that many of you will be able to join us in Utah.  Could snow…Could be hot.  It’s that time of the year.  Read more about it in this issue of the News!
