Texas State University is now accepting applications for a PhD in Applied Anthropology!
Degree Requirements:
54 hours of coursework including:
Classes in theory, statistics, professional ethics, and research techniques (e.g. applied and qualitative methods)
Interdisciplinary courses is areas such as technical communication, business, and marketing
The possibility of semester or year-long professional internship experiences
Completion of a comprehensive exam
Successful completion and defense of a dissertation, ideally in concert with internships or previous/ongoing professional employment
Students will complete their degrees within 5 yearsand will be supported through both faculty and professional mentoring.
Funding:The department and university are committed to providing up to 5 yearsof teaching assistant funding per student.
Eligibility:
MA degree in anthropology or a closely related field
For international students an overall score of 78 on the TOEFL iBT, or a 6.5 overall with minimum individual module scores of 6.0 on the IELTS
