Baer, Roberta.jpgRobbie Baer is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida.  She received her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 1984, and focuses on Medical, Nutritional, and Applied Anthropology.  Her current research activities include oral histories of refugees in the US, evaluations of refugee understanding of covid 19 and policies related to the pandemic, and training of medical students, residents, and current physicians in aspects of medical anthropology.  Her extensive background in applied anthropology, membership in SfAA for over 35 years,  and knowledge of those in this field would make her a valuable member of the SfAA Nominations and Elections Committee.
