After much deliberation and careful consideration, the SfAA Board has decided to cancel the 2020 annual meetings in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Most importantly, the Board is concerned about the health and safety of our members and annual meeting registrants and the possibility for community spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) during the annual meetings. We have also heard from many members and registrants who have informed us that their organizations are recommending against nonessential travel, both domestic and international. Given these rapidly developing travel difficulties and organizational challenges, many of those who were planning on participating in the Albuquerque meetings are now unable to attend.
Therefore, out of our care and respect for members and registrants and for the Albuquerque community at large, we believe the responsible decision is to cancel our 2020 annual meeting.
As we work through the next steps on registration, tour, and workshop fees, we will be in contact with you about how these will be managed. Please cancel your individual travel plans as well as Albuquerque hotel accommodations.
We are heartbroken that we will not see you in Albuquerque, and we thank you for your continued support.
We look forward to seeing you in Norfolk, Virginia, March 23-27, 2021.
