Program Support Assistant, Iowa City VAMC, Research Department – Iowa City, IA

Overview: 
Serve as project coordinator and first point of contact for project leads, investigators, research participants, off-site investigators and staff and outside agencies. Assessing research protocols and research situations to effectively conduct and manage unique research studies and ensure their proper execution. Identifying, analyzing, and recommending solutions to problems in research work processes and procedures. Perform a variety of duties to support concurrently conducted multidisciplinary research projects, including but not limited to: conducting data entry; abstracting data from medical records; transcribing research documentation; conducting subject interviews and/or project observations; preparing, maintaining and updating project spreadsheets; preparing documents, materials and forms for reports, manuscripts, grants and conference presentations; preparing project materials for mailings, handouts, meetings, etc.; designing and maintaining filing systems according to protocol; schedule subject appointments; attending project meetings; maintaining study SharePoint calendars; creating and monitor reproduction requests (i.e., questionnaires, consent forms); prepare tables and figures for publications and presentations; and ensuring compliance with required study documentation. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to independently prepare correspondence (especially clear, concise, and polite e-mail messages). Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
