Lecturer of Anthropology

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Anthropology in the Department of Geography and Anthropology that begins August 2024.

Responsibilities

• A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, college, department, and discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.
• Teaching general education courses in ANTH 1102 Introduction to Anthropology (four fields) and ANTH 1105 Introduction to Physical Anthropology as well as occasional upper or lower division courses in the candidate's area of expertise. The teaching load is 5/4.
• Professional service to the department, college, and university in an area closely aligned with undergraduate instruction.
• Work with a wide variety of students from diverse backgrounds.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications Include

•  A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in anthropology or a closely related discipline is required.

OR

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in anthropology is required.

OR

• A PhD, or the foreign equivalent, in anthropology or a closely related discipline is required.

AND

• Evidence of effective teaching
• Ability to contribute to the department's collegial culture
• The ability to contribute to student success

Expertise in medical, biocultural, environmental, and/or applied anthropology, or the anthropology of health disparities is preferred.
