FEDERAL SERIES & GRADE: GS-0190-12 (Salary Range: $78,446.00 to $101,983.00 / Per Year)
LOCATION:  The duty station is Atlanta, GA.  (Relocation expenses may be reimbursed.)
This career/career-conditional full time position is located in Southeast Regional Office, in the Cultural Resources, Partnerships and Science Division.  The Southeast Regional Cultural Anthropologist will:

  • Direct an intricate program of cultural anthropology/ethnography activities that involve sensitive and complex issues that may impact a wide variety of park or multi-park issues;
  • Advise park management on park natural (geophysical areas, flora and fauna) and cultural ethnographic resources (sites, structures, objects, and landscapes) and the contemporary people who value them;
  • Develop and implement long range plans for the inventory, evaluation, documentation, preservation, research and interpretation of cultural anthropological resources within a park or regional context.
  • Make significant contributions to cultural resources management plans, long range interpretive plans, and other documents such as plans specific to cultural anthropology and/or ethnographic studies, strategic plans, park management plans, and fiscal and budget documents;
  • Prepare written reports and/or make presentations in parks, public gatherings, and professional meetings on anthropological resources and research results.
